The Heart of Winter

Moving through January, we're into the heart of winter here in Driggs, Idaho (and Park City, too).  Snow is deep, temps are cold, but we're also getting a good number of sunny days to enjoy it all.

This is a favorite snowshoe hike up Henderson Canyon, near Driggs.  It wasn't much above 10 degrees, but surprisingly comfortable if we just kept moving.  There's a lot of snow up there!

The snow biking has been excellent, as well. This is the Park City rail-trail on a recent lunchtime ride; lovin' it, but I'm far from mid-summer biking shape, for sure.

Exploring old stomping grounds in the Uintas (east of Park City), we discovered some sweet groomed routes and gorgeous scenery.  There are trails for skiing, snowmobiling, and both.  At around 8,000 feet, snow conditions are incredible.

Growing up, I used to roam this country mostly via snowmobile with family. Now, I'm usually on skis...but all the users we encountered - both motorized and non - were courteous and fun. Really refreshing to experience.

Bridger has been loving the variety, too.

Go Packers!
